Fogheart padded back from where he had been on patrol, in a foul mood, but not letting it show on his calmed features. The group of cats he'd been with had failed him, perhaps even on a personal level...for after he'd been tracking and chasing a rogue fox for perhaps half an hour, one of the fools had slipped into the deputy, causing his paws to make an unnecessary sound. The fox, thin and bony from old age but still concealing some zest behind clouded eyes, snapped at Fogheart, and the tom could still remember very precisely the heat of its breath as it barely missed his throat by a mere half an inch...luckily, the lunge had opened a blind spot behind it, and the fox was felled by the other cats accompanying while Fogheart recuperated from his slip. But as they padded back to camp, the pale deputy was clearly not to be trifled with, and so it was with quite sour intentions as he approached Pallidprancer upon his return. "You," he said simply in greeting. "Are you not a small creature? Can you not survive on a simpler meal than a squirrel, and should therefore save such a meal for someone who deems it more necessary?" His ears tilted forward in stiff attention; his voice was calm and smooth, but it was clear he was upset as he spoke.
