Abilities: Complete power over his own blood; can manipulate it and create black flames with large amounts of it.

Alias: The One Who Blinds, White Daemon, Bringer of Fire

Personality: Besides being extremely rude and arrogant, Kain's personality is little but perpetually bored, and he often gets himself into large-scheme situations simply because he had nothing better to do at the time. Generally bitter about the world and what it entails, he treats others with blatant distaste, including his friends, family, and superiours. He also has a surprisingly short fuse, and tends to get completely (but quietly) furious about small things. He tends to be masochistic, as well, often looking to make his wounds as severe as possible before they would make him pass out. Kain has very little toleration for those with weakness, but seems to have a very soft place in his heart for the blind. Kain also has a mental "disease" of sorts where when he causes something horrible to happen, he has a chronic tendency to formulate alternate stories in which he isn't to blame...he will NOT be dissuaded from this story, even if you put a gun to his head.

History: Kain was, surprisingly, born into a very poor family, and was ridiculed by the rich ever since he was young. Even though his parents and older siblings brushed them off and were still perfectly happy living their lives the way they were, Kain, a normal human, despised his situation and did anything to change the status quo. He took dozens of jobs the moment he was old enough - he served as everything, from a blacksmith to an alchemist's apprentice, all in a fruitless attempt to claw higher in the economic ranks. Eventually, what money he did have became an obsession, and his heart became tainted with material desire. He cared for naught but his own welfare, and would gladly shove one of his parents down a well just to have a simple drink of water.
The devil, taking note of this, took great interest in Kain's development, and began to help with his exploits in any way possible. Whenever a rich child cast stones at Kain, the devil would make sure that a stone would crush their heads. Eventually Kain became nearly unstoppable, and quickly rose to be powerful; by the time he was just 15 years old, he was the richest person in half of his country, and had everything he had ever wanted. The devil had signed a contract with Kain saying that, as long as hatred brewed within his heart, he would be helped with whatever he'd dreamed.
But, just as he had gained even more money by selling his parents' home, he was redeemed. The lack of worry that Kain had experienced had changed him for the better, and one day, while he was out walking, he came across a girl crying on the sidewalk. She had tripped, and while helping her to her feet, the devil once again seized his soul and began wrenching.
He had grown to be too careless, said the devil. The contract had been shattered. Just as quickly as he had risen, Kain was brought down, and everything he'd worked for vanished - his reputation, his servants, his entire life. He was left only his money. When confronting the devil, whom he had blamed for everything, the devil contorted his soul: cursed with beauty and the future to destroy the heavens.
"Your false kindness and face will take you to your pleased God," the devil sneered. "The family and friends you have made will scorn you, leaving me the only one to which you turn. And your greed will pull you to the very top, making it your only destiny to bring it to its knees...and you to yours."

Kain began anew as a stranger. He worked honestly for status. He bought his OWN servants; built his OWN mansion, sought HIS life. He struggled for Hell, but had no choice but to go to Heaven...he now leads as tainted as a life as possible to escape such a fate, unwanted by even himself.
One day, while seizing the newspaper from a poor girl's hands while taking a walk, Kain read about the Academy, and soon sent in his application.

Fun Facts (mostly developed through various role plays):
- Kain, despite how emotionally and mentally strong he is, is very sickly, likely to get ill when his body is stressed or when something overwhelms him.
- His favourite food is strawberry-flavoured ice cream.
- He quite dislikes animals, and doesn't like fraternizing with them in the best of times (except for his two cats; he LOVES his cats).
- Kain is very fond of dealing punishment, especially when it comes to one of his many servants making a mistake which he has to mend.
- He's afraid of making mistakes. <tt>It probably involves the fact that as general punishment, his father would inflict various physical injuries upon Kain when he did something not to his liking.</tt>
